The Challenge
Throughout my time at Point Click Care, I have worked to improve an aging product. The suite of applications and websites that Point Click Care offers are vast, creating a difficult and ambiguous platform to design for.
My Role
I was a User Experience designer on the Home Health team. I worked in an agile product environment, improving the efficiency of clinical professional processes and workflows.
Web examples
The vast and complex healthcare continuum provides many nuances and challenges to design for. Alongside product owners and development, I was able to help streamline clinical processes by giving staff tools that allow for more efficient workflows.
In App Examples
The Point Click Care Secure Conversations application seamlessly integrates with the Point Click Care SaaS-based senior care platform. It provides clinicians with anytime access and communication with other care teams as it relates to patient care or general questions for overall improved decision making within Senior Living Environments. Users can securely and conveniently message other physicians, nurses and other staff members. The Secure Conversations messaging is HIPAA-compliant.
By creating a more succinct and clear dashboard, we were able to help clients quickly visualize comprehensive patient insights and gain a holistic view of patient progress, performance, and payor status. We were able maximize our clients returns with intake, scheduling, documentation, billing, and KPI tools. We were able to verify these results using user performance tracking tools.
Through enhancing communication and collaboration among care team members, we were able to achieve faster response times between healthcare professionals through patient centric or general conversations. We were able to create the ability to have resident-centric conversations or send non-resident-centric messages in a HIPPA-compliant manner. With the ability for clinicians to share a photo/image within a secure message, paired with the ability to access the company directory to search contacts. We were able to streamline the communication of clinicians with more fluidity than ever before.
Results Achieved
Through our research and design efforts were able to help nurses more efficiently view and complete client medical records to support the back-office nursing QA processes. Our product was able to support a streamlined intake process, from managing a master patient record to checking real-time insurance eligibility. Generated claims that clinicians are able to submit directly to clearinghouses or payers. Managed the complete experience from the Medicare episode to generating and submitting the OASIS add lastly, submitting timely RAPS & final claims.
